A Brief History of Sumner Point Marina on Rum Cay

Our island history all started when Frances and Robert Little Sr., arrived on Rum Cay in 1965, when they purchased 100 acres of land on Sumner Point.  Their two sons Bobby and Billy would vacation every summer arriving by plane. Robert Sr. always dreamed of developing the land but it wasn't until 1990 when Bobby began, that the visions materialized. Bobby soon hired a barge and purchased several pieces of equipment and after teaching himself how to operate them the construction of the marina was launched. The Out of the Blue restaurant was soon to follow.

Today, you'll find island style homes and villas that have a colorful blend of tropical and natural coral architecture that beautifully surround the marina. After planting coconut trees and seedlings, the land has flourished into a tropical oasis.
